I am like a ripe fruit whose stem grows thicker and stronger year by year. I become unpluckable as I ripen. I am full within myself; I am content.

Aw Rory! This is just lovely!

Maybe the notion of soulmates gets overplayed and oversimplified, like karma does. Soulmates and karma for a Disney audience. Maybe it's about slouching in relationships, both those with others and ourselves, as in people don't (want to) do the hard and rewarding work of completing themselves **themselves** and expect that someone will do it for them. Whatever it is, you're right that love is the answer. Love, and fun too! Have love and have fun NOW. (!!!)

Happy awesome fun & love-filled holidays to you!

I've found my soulmate and I agree that I didn't "need" him to complete ME. But I will say that I wasn't aware of how to completely love myself until I loved him. He reminds me that I am worthy to be loved even with my imperfections. I love loving him.

Merry Christmas Rory! I love you too!

I love it! I really like the global idea of everyone we meet shows us a mirror to who we are being at that moment in time! Miss you, girl! Hope you're great!

I like this concept regarding soulmates:

"People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that's what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.

A true soul mate is probably the most important person you'll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave.

A soul mate's purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life..."

Wow, while reading this article I had a flashback at myself jogging at Lamark park last week. After a long post-surgery recovery, I tried to start back into an exercise routine and it was an emotional and physical torture... I definitely need to work on the after-the-second-mile images!
Good job!!

I enjoyed this article very much, especially the last paragraph. I think you should write more often; there might be people out there who need to "hear your voice".

I love this post! I often feel like I speak too much and ponder why I feel compelled to speak. Perhaps I am uncomfortable with the silence. Perhaps I feel that someone may benefit from what I have to say. Perhaps it's because I spend too much time with my kids.

Whatever the reason, I have spent more and more time over the last few months thinking about how I can speak less, but speak well when I do speak. Less quantity, more quality.

I know that with my kids, I tend to speak a lot (loudly) and find that I repeat myself over and over and over. And yet, I know from experience that when I speak less and use an intentionally soft voice, I get better results.

Pondering whether I could go an entire day not speaking........and how the kids would do with it.

Awesome. Thanks, Jaime! That's a good idea. It's always great to have something in the future to guide daily living...when in doubt, just sign up for something and see what happens, right? Thanks for reading! :)
